MILANO UNICA – TECH & CLASSIC: TOLLEGNO FABRICS – SPRING 20203D WOOL, made of single or bi-stretch wool, its spearhead. Perfect for elegant, comfortable, performing and distinctive garments. 3DWOOL’s tailoring DNA, thanks to the availability of functional ready-to-wear cuts for tailor-made clothes, thus becomes the expression of a lifestyle with the aim of “Contemporary Tradition”. The Tollegno 1900’s style & performance fabric, which also forms part of the exhibition space set up by the company for the 28th edition of Milano Unica (5/6 February 2019 – Rho Fiera, Milan), is however only one of the “voices” of the spring/summer 2020 collection. The main protagonist is Merino Wool which, in purity and blend with cotton, linen, silk, camel and viscose, defines modern garments with new designs, types and combinations of colours that focus on the changing effects of the “solaro”, the “faded” linens, the double dyes of various fibres and renewed “extra-melange” shades of bi-stretch fabrics. Special reinforcements combined with stretch fabrics and the use of slub yarns give life to jackets, trousers and dresses with a strong contemporary imprinting.
JACKETS, CLOTHES AND TROUSERS: SEASONAL MUSTSThe jackets collection proposes micro-designs, ton-sur-ton squares and gritty patterns in which macro white squares are combined with shades of blue and beige offering a strong “Italian style” image. The “Ice Linen” label highlights proposals that promote new reinforcements or colour effects using fantasy yarns to characterize the foundations and special fading on the linens and “The rainmaker” capsule collection whose tech essence is made possible by the use of stretch wool combined with polyurethane membranes and water repellent treatments. Canvas, robes and twills reinterpreted by Lana Merino, in both design and colours, give space to naturally “classic” clothes, while stretch fantasy products, including natural fibres mix, “design” contemporary solutions, which surprise for their “frosted” silk, translucent and “shantung” in wool/silk and “unevenly dyed” in silk/mohair effects. A young appeal, instead, for daywear dresses in wool/cotton/linen stretch slub yarns and for those that have the characteristic iridescent “solaro” effect proposed in two versions (wool/linen and stretch wool/cotton). And finally an “adventurous” soul for the “Voyager” label fabrics made with the exclusive 3-yarn garments, also combined with silk. Among the trousers, next to the classics and the basics, stand out the washable stretch pants, washable in water at 30°C, the result of an in-depth study of single and bi-stretch reinforcements in various weights and “revolutionary” colour options (a new “extra-melange” range for the bi-stretch cloth, an expanded range of traditional melange, a complete piece-dyed palette and special “fluo” threads for fancy designs).
SPACE FOR HISTORYMilano Unica, along with being the stage of the new collection, will also be a showcase for the presentation of a new issue of the “Quaderni dell’Archivio” series in which original images and watercolours represent Tollegno 1900’s participation in fairs and fashion events since the last century DOWNLOAD PRESS RELEASE
