Tollegno 1900: 120 years of creativity and research

Research, innovation, and creativity are cornerstones for Tollegno 1900, which, for its 120th anniversary, celebrates its interest in continuous experimentation with a series of projects. 2020 thus opens with the launch of ‘TLAB’, the collaboration with Feel Blue for the creation of a precious scarf, symbol of ‘Made in Italy’ excellence, and the partnership with Accademia di Costume & Moda and Modateca Deanna for the Master’s Degree in Creative Knitwear Design. ‘TLAB,’ explained the company, ‘is a creative centre that is designed around the functionality of the environments and the processing phases, but also a comfortable place to welcome customers and visitors. Created next to the spinning area, in the rooms that housed the clothing store that has been transferred to Gaglianico, it is dedicated to the exhibition of the yarn collections and the realization of the entire work chain. Particular attention was paid to sustainability, as confirmed by the premises in line with our “green” policies.’ The sustainable vocation of Tollegno 1900 goes hand in hand with the attitude toward creating a cooperation network and culture. An example of this is the project with Feel Blue for Pitti Uomo: the creation of a scarf with the Harmony 2/30 yarn with the intarsia technique, symbol of the best made in Italy for creativity, innovation, and quality of raw materials. Precisely these three principles are the pillars on which the Master’s Degree program in Creative Knitwear Design of the Accademia di Costume & Moda and Modateca Deanna was developed, of which Tollegno 1900 is a partner. ‘We have chosen to be one of the manufacturing companies that are partners of this project because we recognize its highly educational value. The student who made the collection with our Harmony yarn is Chen Jui Yang, already a winner during the academic year of the “Diesel Brave Kid” project. His final work, produced by Shima Seiki Italia, will be presented at Pitti Filati.’
