Tollegno 1900 has forever set itself apart, offering a broad range of ultra-modern fabrics, even in their more classic variations, thanks to the company’s exploitation of the most advanced technology. On occasion of Milano Unica, from 6th to 8th February 2018 in the halls of Milan’s Rho Fiera, this Piedmont-based company, a leader in the international textiles market, will present its latest proposals for the 2019 spring-summer season. Seasonal trends are geared toward more prominent designs in both jackets and suits: checks that are asymmetrical and threads that are unpredictable. Textured backgrounds are achieved using irregular weaves or slub, jaspé or delavé yarns. Colours are anything but bland, becoming almost three-dimensional thanks to the double dyeing of mixed fibre fabrics, or the iridescent effects of yarn-dyed fabrics.
For jackets, all textiles are characterised by textured backgrounds achieved using special structures, different fibre mixes or even shot fabrics, and in the case of linen, through delavé piece treatments. All this to create stunning, eye-catching effects in both plain colours and patterns, which are ever-more prominent for a clientele constantly in search of new ideas. That said, there is no shortage of the great classics in wool, linen and cotton used to create truly original jackets; in particular the ICE LINEN label in SS 2019 groups together products made using the exclusive linen-based double delavé technique, highly appreciated thanks to its uniform and delicate look. The upcoming season’s suits and trousers play on patterns. Starting for example with the finer range featuring super 120’s wool, traceable products originating from the Beaufront estate in Tasmania with whom the company has collaborated in exclusivity for many years. Products are also proposed in super 110’s, super 100’s and merino extrafine wools, great classics of the company’s collections available in various weights and weaves. Finally, the mix with silk makes way for various genres intended specifically for ceremonies and important evening occasions.
Just like every year, Milano Unica sets the stage for Tollegno 1900 to present the most innovative products reserved for its clients. For the 3D WOOL range, consisting in entirely versatile products (suit, trousers, jacket, overcoat) made with elastic, mono or bi-stretch yarns, the season’s novelty can be found in the new, finer items made using super fine super 120’s traceable wool from the Beaufront estate in Tasmania and available in various weights, weaves and patterns. Elasticity, a unique characteristic of 3D WOOL fabrics, ensures excellent wearability and the production of high-performing elegant garments.
The more technical RAINMAKER proposals introduce Tollegno 1900 fabrics paired with a polyurethane membrane, with technical slivers in polyester, with nylon stretch jersey, all with a water-repellent treatment for windbreakers, jackets and modern overcoats.
The VOYAGER label is confirmed for the SS 2019 season, combining special and high-performing genres made using special 3-ply yarns, dedicated to the production of trousers or suits and jackets for more demanding travellers, insofar as the fabrics are exceptionally crushproof and feature good breathability. Typically modern suits are created using special silk yarns mixed with elastic yarns for an elegant look in a new guise, while more casual versions are made by mixing wool and cellulose fibres such as linen and cotton. Visual appeal and technical performance thrive in the range of “MULTIPERFORMANCE” products: a mix of fabric constructions and treatments that guarantee resistance to water, stains, bacteria and odours, in addition to offering protection against UV rays.
Tollegno 1900 concludes the presentation of its proposals at the Milanese textiles exhibition with its Luxury range, which for the SS19 season offers a “capsule” of highly sophisticated products, containing the most precious materials such as silk, cashmere, camelhair and mohair. The most defining garments are no doubt the jackets in a mix of camelhair and silk, piece-dyed in classic men’s colours, but also in pastel tones for women. Another family of products making a huge impact this season is represented by fabrics obtained with a yarn of pure mohair and silk, giving life to suit and jacket items using very “dry” and industrious hands, for maximum performance in terms of resistance to creasing and added comfort. The theme of performance is ever-present, even in the luxury range: In the types most representative of this line, Tollegno 1900 has introduced yarns specifically constructed with ultra-fine elastomers to donate elasticity. Various classic items are thus brought to life, revisited in this modern key, such as the elastic camelhair and silk fabric, jackets in wool, silk, yarn-dyed linen, cashmere wool, silk and mohair wool and piece-dyed silk.
The range of genres ready for garment dyeing is extended with the addition of the already consolidated wool, cashmere and silk “blazer”, a new jacket fabric in wool/silk/linen. Several new types of suits and jackets in yarn-dyed linen mixes are also presented, highlighting the importance of these mixes during the peak summer period. Finally, the offer is completed by several classic jacket and coat items in pure Mongolian cashmere and mixes, in openable simple and double piece-dyed fabrics
