Designer for Lemaire, the young creative presented his independent line, Seconda Paris, during Paris Fashion Week, choosing Harmony to create one of his flagship products.

Graduate of the IUAV University of Venice, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2021, Andrea Bertazzon worked at Wales Bonner in London in 2019, before moving to Paris in 2020 to join the Lemaire team as a designer. At the same time, he launched his independent project, Seconda Paris, which was officially presented in March during Paris Fashion Week.

Andrea, what did you present during the Parisian event?

During Paris Fashion Week, I presented my first collection, along with its campaign, at an event that also included a concert hosted in a gallery in the 9th arrondissement.

What distinguishes Seconda Paris, your brand?

It’s a brand that I like to describe as measured and driven by a profound intention. It’s a brand that prefers to express itself through objects rather than statements, that prioritizes quality over expansion and builds meaning slowly, over time. My pieces aim to become part of the wardrobe of those who choose carefully, leaving nothing to chance. Seconda Paris is made up of a few well-crafted pieces, designed to last and carry meaning.

Among these is a leather boot with a button system to attach knitted cuffs. How did the idea come about?

The idea stems from the desire to create a versatile and durable shoe. I wanted to build a stable and functional base, yet capable of transforming thanks to a customization system that would allow for color and character changes through interchangeable elements. I was also very interested in the contrasting materials between leather and knit, as well as the tension between structure and softness.

For the cuffs, you chose Tollegno 1900’s iconic yarn, Harmony. What characteristics convinced you to choose it?

For Seconda Paris, it was important to start with a truly Made in Italy label. I needed a durable yarn with a natural composition that was pleasant against the skin and capable of offering warmth and comfort. It was also essential to have a broad, consistent color palette available in stock, without excessively high minimum quantities. I was therefore looking for a yarn that would allow me to manage production flexibly and develop color variations consistent with the rest of the collection. Harmony met all these needs perfectly. For the sleeves, I also relied on Feel Blue, who supported us from the beginning, accompanying us in the development and production of this item.

How did you hear about Harmony?

Having worked on men’s and women’s knitwear for Lemaire for two years, I had the opportunity to get to know and appreciate Tollegno 1900 yarns.

Have you worked with Tollegno 1900 before?

Although Tollegno 1900 has collaborated with Lemaire before, I personally had never had the opportunity to work directly with the brand. This project represented a concrete opportunity for me to get to know him better and start a direct relationship.
