After more than 10 years dedicated to the world of jewelry design, Tammy Kanat, an artist who makes innovation her cornerstone, has devoted herself to the universe of fabrics. After enrolling in the Australian Tapestry Workshop, learning and refining her skills in tapestry weaving, Tammy dedicated herself to the creation of fabric works, giving life to a personal contemporary reworking of textile art. Her large-scale creations are defined by amorphous shapes, concentric circles of quilted wool and natural fibers. How does she work? Using a steel frame, she first hangs the copper shapes that represent the structure of her abstract tapestries, then proceeds to combine natural materials such as wool, linen and silk to create small tufts and organic rows of different shades of color. What defines his creations and gives them a strong identity style, in addition to the use of exclusively natural yarns, is the study of the contrast between colors and textures.
