Healing wool is a type of natural sheep’s wool that, in addition to a residual fat content, contains wool wax (lanolin), with recognized skin care properties. Usually removed by washing the wool in hot water with the addition of soda, the lanolin is instead preserved by washing and carding the yarn at a maximum of 50 ° C. Healing wool is usually applied for the treatment of muscle tension and joint pain, tendonitis and skin irritation, colds (sore throat, earaches, coughs), rheumatic arthrosis and arthritis. The wool is placed directly on the painful point of the skin and tied.
