Which yarn best represents the identity of Tollegno 1900? The brand's distributor for a decade in Portugal tells us.

Being able to count on an international network of loyal distributors who share the company’s vision and projects is one of Tollegno 1900’s strengths. The brand’s sales network is extremely widespread and relies on professionals who know not only the company’s yarns perfectly, but also its commitment to sustainability and innovation. This is confirmed by Sandra Gomes, owner of New Trend and who has been alongside Tollegno 1900 for a decade in the distribution of its products in Portugal.

Ten years of collaboration with Tollegno 1900 underline the commonality of vision and objectives with the company. A company that you know very well. What do you think are its strengths that distinguish it from its competitors on the market?

The Italian know-how, which translates into extreme quality in the product and in the workmanship and in the pre- and post-sales service, is undoubtedly the flagship of Tollegno 1900. The company is extremely reactive and is able to provide not only rapid, but also effective responses. Last but not least is the staff’s ability to build human relationships with customers, but also between colleagues, which makes empathy its hallmark. A primary value in our world.

In your experience, which yarn “made in” Tollegno 1900 that fully represents the company?

Certainly the Harmony yarn: our 100% Merino wool does not only represent the company’s core business, but also interprets its commitment to sustainability and innovation. A yarn whose value is recognized by customers who, in fact, have continued to choose it for decades. A choice closely linked not only to its undeniable quality and value, but also to the range of colors available, starting from the stock service.

Which Tollegno 1900 products best meet your customers’ needs?

I have to repeat myself but without a doubt the Harmony yarn remains a cutting edge capable of facilitating my work in terms of sales.

Let’s talk about your work, when did you start moving in this field?

I started this business in 2000, shortly after arriving in Portugal, a country that I chose despite being born in France to immigrant parents. Initially, I started working for the largest textile agency in the country as a back office employee, but my business quickly began to expand into other divisions. Also collaborating with the sales department, I met Roberto Ragazzoni, your current Sales Director.

A lucky meeting since you found yourselves in Tollegno 1900?

Definitely! After that company had to close, I opened my own company, which I renamed Newtrend, and through a series of twists of fate I found myself working with Roberto! Life has been good to us!

What are the difficulties of your business?

This work is based on contacts and personal relationships, it is essential to build and maintain good relationships with everyone. After 25 years of hard work, I can say that I have excellent connections, whether they are suppliers or customers. A result that required patience, dedication, professionalism and seriousness in keeping what is promised, as Tollegno 1900 does. Today I can say that we are a big family!
