A country that made its name out of wool could not be missing. In fact, a few kilometers south of Merano there is Lana, one of the largest towns in South Tyrol with a Mediterranean climate, widespread apple cultivation and numerous cultural attractions including churches, monasteries, castles and fortresses. To discover it better, there are some intineraries and things to do: a walk on the “Brandis” canal path, an excursion with the cable car up to San Vigilio from where you can enjoy a unique panorama over the entire Merano area and a visit to the Kränzel labyrinth garden in the nearby municipality of Cermes. The villages of Paviccolo and Foiana are also part of the municipality of Lana.
