There are uses of wool that are unexpected. Thanks to keratin, the main substance of the yarn that, decomposing, gives off a bad smell, wool can be used as a repellent to keep deer and roe deer away from fruit trees. To keep them away, simply hang wads of dirty wool on the trees to be protected.
