MUMAT focuses on the recent history of the Val di Bisenzio and its textile industrial past. The Museum of Textile Machinery, in addition to placing emphasis on the rag recycling method that has made the city of Prato great, offers visitors the opportunity to view textile tools and equipment that date back to the end of the 19th century up to the mid-19th century. 900. On display are not only spinning mills, carding machines and an ancient turbine from the still active factory powered by water from the Bisenzio, but also a rare example of a restored wooden loom.
