Dedicated to wool and the history of its processing over the centuries, the Museum of Wool Art is housed in the spaces once occupied by the ancient Stia wool mill, whose factory premises have been adapted into an exhibition center and a place of remembrance . There are various sections that compose it and in which the visit is divided: “An art as old as man”,“Nature and fibres”, “The art of wool: the artisanal processing of wool”, “The Stia wool mill” and “The industrial processing of wool”. In particular, in the foreground is a particular type of yarn processing that was particularly widespread especially in the medieval era in the area of Florence, home to powerful corporations.
