The most valuable and exclusive textile fiber in the world is supplied by the Vicuna, one of the smallest South American camelid species. Of these protected animals, of which there are currently only 180 thousand specimens, 80% live in the Andes, in enormous farms that allow them to live in the wild. The cheapest fabric is the one made of polyester which, in addition to the limited cost, has a series of pluses: resistant and long-lasting over time, it stretches and hardly shrinks after washing.
