T Network, Yarn
In the footsteps of the noble yarn, you will travel along evocative roads between history and nature

The Wool and Silk Road unfolds along 130 km between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany, a wild hiking itinerary for the nature that characterizes it: ridge prairies with wild horses alternate with wide valleys and thick forests, creating suggestions of rare beauty. Divided into six stages of about 23 kilometers each from Bologna to Prato and vice versa, the route, medium-difficult for those who travel it on foot, makes the industrial textile tradition of the two regions its fil rouge. This is confirmed by a series of “hydraulic works” that can be found along the Via, such as the Chiusa and the Cavalciotto, the museums and places dedicated to weaving and the history of looms: in Bologna the “Vittorio Zironi” Museum of Fabric and Upholstery, in Vernio the MU.MA.T Museum of Textile Machinery, in Prato the Textile Museum, in the former Campoli factory, an excellent example of industrial archaeology recovery.

But not only that: thanks to the continuous intersection with the Gothic Line, the Via della lana e della seta commemorates some ferocious clashes that took place in the Second World War.
