T Network, Yarn
Wool, looms, but also images that tell the story of the yarn with a thousand characteristics and valuable qualities: where to discover them?

The Wool Art Museum located in the Lanificio di Stia complex, in Casentino, is a rare example of valuable industrial archaeology. After having been a place of production for a long time, today the building is proposed as a center for the diffusion of the textile culture of the entire area. Wool production has in fact accompanied the development and growth of Stia throughout the centuries: the sound of the bell and the whistle of the siren marked the time, in fact the time of the workers and inhabitants of the town. The visit to the Museum is divided into 5 itineraries corresponding to as many sections named “An art as old as man”, “Nature and fibers”, “The Art of Wool: the phases of artisanal wool processing”, “The Lanificio di Stia” and “The phases of industrial wool processing”. The tour of the facility represents a fascinating journey through the history of wool art from the dawn of human civilization to the industrial revolution and the golden age.
