The young designer got the better of the other four creatives, as she selected thanks to the likes collected on the private Facebook group “FTY for New Designers” in the first phase of the competition held online: Edoardo Terribilini combined with Manifattura Sesia, Sara Zanetti associated with Tollegno 1900, Anna Baroni coupled with Filmar and Enola Cappellari in partnership with Filati Biagioli Modesto.
The value of the two knitted garments, fruit of Raquel de Carvalho’s talent and inspiration, was recognized by a jury of international standing composed of Antonio Cristaudo (Commercial and development director of Pitti Immagine), Chen Lung Chin (Designer), Elisabetta Scarpini (Art director of Feel the Yarn Magazine), Federico Rocca (Chief editor of Vanity Fair), Ornella Bignami (Art director of Elementi Moda) and Vittorio Branchizio (Creative Director research at Shima Seiki).

“An award that represents the attention that Feel the Yarn has always reserved for the new generations, investing in their skills thanks also to the contribution of our members. This first edition of “Feel The Contest”, born as a result of the experience made in 2020 with “Feel the Yarn – The Contest” in digital version – explains Federico Gualtieri, President of the Yarn Promotion Consortium – fully confirms this. An experiment, the one carried out with this new format, which ends with a positive sign and with the enthusiasm of the organizers and participants, called to work as a team in the name of the best Italian know-how. A skill that went hand in hand with the willingness of companies that believed in the project and got involved, providing yarns and skills to support new talents. A clear sign of how much collaboration between the various players in the sector is the keystone on which to build the future of Italian spinning and knitwear ”.
