Although the name may be misleading, boiled wool is a yarn similar to felt and cloth whose production is performed starting from felted, carded and fulled pieces.

The result is a heavy, very thick, warm and compact yarn that is used industrially to make winter clothes, slippers and hats. Not to be confused with felt, which is carded wool.
