Talks, exhibitions, speed dates between companies and students have decreed the success of the “number zero” of Feel The Green | Behind the Stage, an initiative organized by Feel the Yarn® which, for the first time in a single context, has enhanced all the factors of the Italian knitwear supply chain, confirmed as an ideal partner in an international key. If the theme of sustainability, developed on the basis of the 4sustainability® system (PEOPLE, TRACE, MATERIALS, CYCLE, CHEM and PLANET), represented the common thread of the two days held at the Officina del Volo in Milan, also the innovation and creativity factors have carved out a leading role for themselves, thanks also to the contribution of the 28 spinning mills associated with the Consorzio Promozione Filati – CPF. Among these there was also Tollegno 1900 which, with its own exhibition space, presented some of its yarns with a green soul. “We are very satisfied with this experience which reveals how the knitwear supply chain has a lot to tell even through unusual channels,” comment from Filatura di Tollegno
To make the format put on track with the support of 5 other partners (Pantone®, 4sustainability®, Politecnico di Milano – Department of Design, NLE-Nuova Libra Editrice and CSM Camera Showroom of Milan) a real novelty for the sector, were the ability to create value mixes between the world of work and school, (two important installations to recreate live the knitwear and textile recycling chains and 3 stands of the educational institutions present), to devise opportunities for comparison between companies through Talks with strongly contemporary themes, and to give space to spinning mills.
Over 600 visitors took part in the symbolic journey into the world of Italian knitwear who had the opportunity to attend 6 Talks for 6 Pillars, animated by 42 speakers including entrepreneurs, institutions, moderators and industry experts called to tell their experience in traceability, transparency of the supply chain, recovery, reuse, recycling, circular economy, sustainable raw materials, chemical risk and reduction of toxic and harmful substances in production cycles and limitations of the environmental and social impacts of production. The lens was also focused on the centrality of the designer in manufacturing, supported by the presentation of the results of the Con-Text research of the Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic.
The valuable feedback collected therefore confirms the great proactivity of Feel the Yarn® and its spinning mills, always open to following new paths and experimenting with unconventional solutions to emphasize the excellence of its Know How and have the best visibility in international perspective.
After “Feel the Green | Behind the Stage” therefore new possibilities of expression and development are opening up for the entire knitwear supply chain, which is increasingly centered, also in the enhancement of Italian fashion.
