The network of textile companies that aim to develop innovation, research and projects related to sustainability and the circular economy takes first place in the ranking of the tender for textile recycling

Excellent result for MagnoLab which wins first place in the final ranking of the proposals admitted to the funding envisaged by the PNRR tender for textile recycling. The network of Biellese textile companies that aim to develop innovation, research and projects related to sustainability and the circular economy is in fact on the top step of the initiative that finances projects judged to be highly innovative for the treatment and recycling of waste from supply chains strategies identified in the action plan for the circular economy launched by the EU. To give MagnoLab the possibility of receiving 4.9 million as the maximum contribution on an investment of approximately 11 million is Line D of the tender which has as its focus “Infrastructure for the collection of pre-consumer and post-consumer textile fractions, modernization of plant engineering and construction of new plants for the recycling of textile fractions from a systemic perspective” and makes 600 million euros available.

To tell Marco Bardelle, Administrator of Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 srl and Co-founder MagnoLab.

MagnoLab has reached the first place in the final ranking of the proposals admitted to the funding foreseen by the PNRR call for textile recycling. What does your proposal actually consist of?

We will install a complete dyeing laboratory, some dyeing and finishing machines preparatory to the dyeing and ennobling of articles deriving from recycling, as well as useful for R&D projects that will be carried out within MagnoLab. Obviously, if there will be more complex processes or to be performed on machinery not present in Magnonevolo, they will be performed in our factory in Masserano.

How does this project fit into your development strategy?

It is a priority because it is fully aligned with our strategic plan which, for the next 5 years, aims at development ever closer to those who want to experiment with us new circular economy projects and new solutions even far from traditional business.

Timing: how soon do you expect to achieve the goal you promised yourself with this proposal?

The construction works are almost finished, the machinery will be installed by the end of May 2023, we plan to be fully operational by the end of the year, there will be another very experimental area that we are still keeping confidential for now that could be implemented at the beginning 2024.

From its inception to today, what are the most significant steps that have distinguished MagnoLab?

The collaboration with a top-level consultant who is accompanying us in the finalization of the business model design and the entry of the new partner Pinter Caipo.

Work on the site is progressing unabated and seeing our project grow so fast is very exciting!
